Calcium Bentonite Clay Detox

First and foremost: Check with your doctor FIRST to make sure this is a safe choice for you!
Now that we've got that out of the way:
Let's talk about detox. No, not a drug detox but a detox from the heavy metals and toxins that are already in your system. (Thanks to things like air pollution, food pollution and who knows where else this crap can come from) These toxins are absorbed into your body and they store in fat cells, bones, glands and hair. Yuck!
Heavy metal toxicity can result in damaged or reduced mental and central nervous function, lower energy levels, and damage to blood composition, lungs, kidneys, liver, and other vital organs. Long-term exposure may result in slowly progressing physical, muscular, and neurological degenerative processes that mimic Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, muscular dystrophy, and multiple sclerosis. In addition, allergies to heavy metals are not uncommon and repeated long-term contact with some metals or their compounds may even cause cancer. (WHOA!)
Why am I on this subject? Because about a week and a half ago, I did a Google search on some symptoms that I have been experiencing. These were symptoms that I had automatically associated with my bipolar disorder. Boy, was I ever surprised when the FIRST thing that popped up on the list was HEAVY METAL TOXICITY! Don't get me wrong...I loves me some heavy metal (the music! not the toxin), but I've since learned that not all heavy metal is good!
So, how the hell do you get rid of it?
Good question! I searched that, too. This is what I found:
If you do your own search on any search engine on this subject you will get a about a million and a half suggestions on how to detoxify (or cleanse) your body of these pollutants and heavy metals. Some suggest to eat only fruits and vegetables. I'm not saying that is a bad idea, but if you are on a tight budget that's not always possible.I read that cilantro (also known as coriander) is another natural herb that detoxifies the body of these heavy metals.
The one thing that stood out (FOR ME) was bentonite clay. I've heard of this before a long time ago but had forgotten what it was and for what it is used. Now? I'll never forget it!

     Benzonite clay? What's THAT?

Bentonite clay is a clay that is mined from the earth, and it’s formed after volcanic ash has weathered and aged in the presence of water. It has a strong negative electromagnetic charge, and when activated by water, it acts like a magnet in and on our bodies, pulling metals and toxins to it. It also has an affect on the body’s pH and provides the body with some vital minerals at the same time.
There are four types of bentonite clay. Calcium bentonite, sodium bentonite, potassium bentonite and aluminum bentonite. (Calcium and sodium are the two most commercially used clays to detox. So, do your homework and research which one you feel like is best for you.) *I used the calcium bentonite*

M'kay...What do I do with it?
Well if it's food grade clay, you can put it in water or juice and drink it! It will detoxify you from the inside. (separate post on this later!) You can also bathe in it. (This will also be a separate post...along with the complete recipe that I used) AND you can use it as a paste and put it on your face. (This will be another post for late, along with recipe)

Is it expensive? Where can I buy it?

No, it is not expensive at all!  I got 10 ounces of it and trust me, it lasts for a long time. Unless you use it every single day, which I don't. I have the Redmond Bentonite clay, which you can buy straight from their website but I bought mine at Amazon. (because it was a little bit cheaper than the website because I got free shipping) Here's the link to the exact one that I bought: Redmond Trading Company Clay 10 oz

All of the ways listed above are great ways to detox your body from harsh toxins that are just sitting in your body and making you sick. I chose the clay detox because it was the more economical choice for me and because it "spoke" to me when I read about it. I have used it and as I stated above I will post all about my adventures with this product. So, until the next blog:

Love, Hugs & Blessed Be,

Jai
